Abex Background

Abex (UK) was founded in 1980.  We have worked with some of the best known electronics and communications companies in the UK; developing reliable, high performance products for both commercial and military systems.  Our contracts have included designs for Securicor, AT&T, Siemens, Matsushita, Alcatel and Nokia.

Recognising opportunities within the rapidly evolving personal communications sector, Abex Consultants was established as an independant design consultancy in 1989.  To reflect the expansion of the company towards an international trading status, the company name was changed in June 2000 to Abex (UK).  This new name retains the established Abex brand identity, while presenting the company as an immediately recognisable UK entity in the worldwide marketplace.

Abex has a strong background in Computer Aided Design.  Following contracts to provide consultancy and training to EEsof Inc. (now Agilent EEsof) during the early 1990's, we have established a reputation for appropriate, highly accurate simulation work.  This foundation is now being built upon with the addition to our portfolio of the Microwave Office suite from AWR, the next generation of high frequency EDA.

An RF or microwave design is not complete until it is tested and the performance is verified.  For this reason we have a well equipped laboratory including a state-of-the-art Anritsu 20GHz network analyser linked via GPIB to Softplot, the industry leading measurement presentation tool.

We are also a sales company.  In the area of microwave and RF, we offer new and used high quality accessories and devices across a wide range of technologies and frequencies.  The availability of a sophisticated modern test laboratory has obvious benefits, enabling us to offer a full test and verification service on both new and used parts.
